Privacy Policy

MindcraftAI ("we", "us", "our") operates the Linger — AI Girlfriend & Chat mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By installing or using the App you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account details — email address and password (via Firebase Authentication).
• Profile inputs — display name, date of birth, gender, language preference, and any other details you enter into onboarding.
• Chat content — text messages, prompts, and (optional) images you share with the AI companion. Chats are stored locally on your device and a server-side summary may be retained to maintain conversational context.
• Purchase records — subscription state managed by Google Play Billing. We do not see your card or bank details.
• Support communications — any email you send us at innovatroid@gmail.com.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Device & app data — device model, OS version, app version, language, crash logs, install ID (via Firebase Installations).
• Usage data — screens viewed, features used, ads shown/clicked, session length.
• Approximate location — derived from device locale and IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
• Advertising identifier — Android Advertising ID, used by AdMob to personalise ads where you have consented.
• Push notification token — issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver notifications.

1.3 Permissions we request

The App requests the following Android permissions. Each is used solely for the feature described — we never collect data through these permissions in the background.

• Internet (android.permission.INTERNET) — required to chat with the AI companion, generate images, sync subscriptions, and load ads.
• Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS, Android 13+) — to deliver in-app push notifications. You may decline this prompt or disable notifications later in your device settings without losing any functionality.
• Microphone (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO) — used only when you tap the microphone icon to dictate a message via on-device speech recognition. Audio is not uploaded to our servers; the recognised text is what you send.
• Camera (android.permission.CAMERA) — used only when you choose to attach a freshly captured photo to a chat message. We do not access the camera in the background. The photo is sent as a chat attachment and processed exactly like any image you upload.
• Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) — required by AdMob for ad selection and frequency capping. You can reset or limit this identifier from your device's Google Settings > Ads.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate and personalise the AI companion experience.
• To process subscription purchases and confirm entitlement.
• To display ads (including rewarded ads that unlock features) and measure their performance.
• To send transactional and engagement push notifications you can disable in OS settings.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

The following processors receive data when you use the App. Each operates under their own privacy policy linked below.

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging, Installations) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy

4. AI Content and Limitations

Replies from the AI companion are generated by large language models. Output is fictional, not factual advice, and may be inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate despite our safety measures. Linger is for entertainment and companionship and is not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice.

Your prompts and the companion's responses may be transmitted to OpenAI and getimg.ai for processing. Per their policies, they do not use API content to train their models by default. Do not share information you would not want sent to a third-party service provider.

5. Advertising and Rewarded Ads

The App is funded by ads served by AdMob. You may see banner, native, interstitial, and rewarded video ads. Rewarded ads are optional and unlock features in exchange for watching. On first launch and where required by law, you will be presented with a Google-provided consent form to choose between personalised and non-personalised ads. You can change this later from your device's Google Settings > Ads section.

6. Data Retention

• Account data — retained while your account is active.
• Chat history — kept on your device. Server-side summary data is kept while the account exists and deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Subscription records — retained as long as required by tax and accounting law.
• Crash and analytics logs — retained for up to 14 months.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA, UK, India under DPDP Act 2023, California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email innovatroid@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. We will respond within 30 days.

You can delete your account at any time from inside the App — Settings > Account > Delete Account. Deletion removes your profile, chat summary, and subscription association from our systems.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS for data in transit, Firebase Security Rules for access control, and Google Play Billing for payment processing. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised contact us immediately.

9. International Transfers

Our service providers operate globally and may process your data outside your country of residence, including the United States. By using the App you consent to such transfers, which are protected by standard contractual clauses and the providers' privacy commitments.

10. Children

Linger is not directed to and not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete the relevant information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or via the email associated with your account. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
